‘What do plants dream about?’

Philosopher Michael Marder and artist Anaïs Tondeur explain in this podcast the experience of sharing workshops on the complexity of plant life with several school groups in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

‘What do plants dream about?’ was a workshop for schoolchildren in Vitoria-Gasteiz where the participants, students from Samaniego and Ramon Bajo Schools and Odon de Apraiz Ikastola, worked with the plants in the museum’s garden, viewing them as living beings with their own subjectivity and intelligence. During the activity, they explored the perceptive and cognitive capacities, vital rhythms, behaviour and modes of expression of plants in a playful and interactive manner, using a variety of artistic techniques in the form of imaginative exercises.

The workshops were held at Artium Museoa in spring 2025 as the result of nearly ten years of collaboration between the philosopher Michael Marder and the artist Anaïs Tondeur.
